Reading Incorporation

I've been reading a book called "The Power of Now," by: Eckhart Tolle. It is as he called it, "a guide to a spiritual enlightenment." This book's moral is  how to live the present and let go of  the past, and to stop worrying about what is going to happen in the future. He actually explains how our minds are only capable of living in a time zone. Which is the past and future. And this is why if we pay close attention to the conversations we have with ourselves, they are either dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.

The power is simply is to the person who is able to not think of the past, and stop worrying about the future. The person who is capable of turning the switch of thinking off. Who ever is willing and able to do so, will get to enjoy living the present in mindfulness. If we do look back at our lives and summarize the happy moments, they would be  the little things. Therefore, happiness is found when we start living and enjoying every moment. who else can relate to this kind of thinking? For me the author spoke my mind out. You all should give this book a try.

  1. Wafa,

This is very wise advice. Dwelling on the past, especially if it is negative, is only hurtful and drags one down. On the other hand, thinking of pleasant things that happened in the past gives one hope for the future to enjoy more of those wonderful experiences.

The book you mention sounds like a very uplifting one to read!

  2. Wafa, I agree with the book, so many people dwell in the past and can not focus on the future. I have had such a rough life growing up I would never want to visit my pass. I am grateful fo the accomplishment I have made in my life we must learn to live in the now.
